Clean, cozy rooms with functioning AC and hot/cold water. Basic breakfast offered but enough to not leave you hungry. The location of the hotel was central, close to public transportation and tourist sites. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
The language barrier was a challenge for some of the staff, making communication difficult. The room was small, but not problematic since we were out exploring the city most of the time.

This hotel really surprised me for the price I paid. the location was perfect, just a short walk away from the main attractions and with plenty of restaurants nearby. the room was small, but cozy and clean, with both air conditioning and a fan. the breakfast offered a decent variety, and the staff serving it were friendly.
The hotel staff didn't speak much English, which made communication a bit challenging. the walls were thin, and I could hear noise from other rooms.

The hotel staff was very helpful. Our first room was really noisy and had problems in the shower's drain - basically, the bathroom was flooded. They moved us to a much better room that seems located in a renewed floor of the hotel.
The neighborhood is not very pleasant, must use a cab to come back at night. Breakfast: no milk or regular coffee, just the turkish coffee (not filtered, coffee power directly dissolved into hot water).

We were there for 6 day in September and had wonderful time. Orun's location, the staff and their eagerness to help was remarkable. I would recommend it to all
Bring variety in the breakfast menu

Staff amability: when we needed to use the internet and to phone in turkey they allowed us to use their own computer and phone.
Our bathroom was dirty: there were hairs inside. There was no sheet in our bedroom and we needed to ask for it. Breakfast was very light and not varied: cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, bread, jam, and undrinkable coffee... The best of it was actually olives!! What's more the location of this hotel is not so good when you want to visit the main places of the old city (30min at least to get Hagia Sophia). To conclude, we may say that we are students and we didn't expect a palace and gastronomic cooking, but we were really disappointed with this hotel and we don't recommand it.

Rather central location
Staff not speaking english (ecept few words). Required to pay in cash. Dirty towels. Really old mattress. Mold in bathroom. Dirty floor. Very noisy - hearing all other guests talking, singing squeaking beds ...

The room comes with a small fridge and a sattelite TV. The staff is quite friendly and the receptionists speak English. The human aspect is definitely the positive side of staying in this hotel. The confort and value for money are undoubtedly the negative ones.
This hotel had its days long ago. It now looks very much like a run down place in a not so well located/ noisy sector of Aksaray. The bed mattress was shallow from long service, and the tiny bathroom had the appearance of not having been cleaned for some time. Towels were dirty, even the replacements. The open buffet breakfast was quite poor even compared to the standard breakfast of other Turkish 2/3-star hotels. The blue neon light in the narrow reception lobby makes this hotel look quite peculiar for a tourist destination, especially in that part of town. The hotel supplied pictures posted on the Booked.net website do not reflect the real state of the rooms offered at check-in. This was rather dissapointing given the choice of hotels available in Istanbul at this price. Anyone interested in spending 40+ EUR/ night, should continue to look for a better choice. Lacking a serious renovation and change in cleaning concept, the real value for renting a room in Orun Hotel should not be higher than 25 EUR/ night and should not be considered as suitable for foreign tourists.
